Red Eye: The Movie

Fri Aug 19, 2005 3:07 am

It's starting tomorrow, anyone have any details about the airline/carriers/filming/etc.?
The ticket seems to be on UT (US Air Trans), an E fare, and a RED-EYE from IAH to MIAMI.. The flight isn't even long enough to warant a red-eye, unless you want to arrive late at night.
What now?

It's probably on a fictional carrier, like on most movies. Anyway I haven't seen it, but from what I hear, it's one of the must-see movies of the summer, and it has been getting fantastic reviews. I, for one, can't wait to see it.

I'm not trying to be pessimistic but with the running time of only 85 minutes it will probably blow. I like how the cabin is dead quiet and the guy is talking about killing her father, yet the neighbor passenger don't even hear them talking. I can't wait to see how many aviation details the producers messed up on.

Hm.. I found some of the filming was done at ONT and some at LAX and then of course some at MIA. The type of plane being simulated is a 767 and I read on rottentomatoes.com that they went through a lot to make it look like a real 767 (but I'm sure all of us a.netters will see otherwise). Also they used a hydrolic system to simulate turbulence using a bunch of airbags underneath the set, that sounded kind of interesting. Anyway, it's gotten pretty good reviews so far so I'll be sure to check it out. Oh, and the airline seems to be called "Fresh Air."

The flight is actually a redeye from Dallas to Miami...though your right...not long enough to warrant a redeye. Oh well. Maybe it leaves DFW at 2AM? (I know in the storyline the plane is delayed because of weather).

Most of the filming for the movie was done in Los Angeles, except for the finale, which was filmed in Miami and MIA.

And looking at the trailer, the name seems to spoof on jetBlue by being all "modern" and lower-cased.

Its out September 2nd here in the UK, it looks really cool, but I dont think the whole movie is set on the plane because quite a bit of the trailer we are getting is of her running through streets etc. Still can't wait though!  Smile

in the trailor the plane taking off looks like a boeing house colour 777 but i dont think the film looks good as most of it isnt even on the aircraft and 1hr 25mins aint very long for a film like this but i might go see it
You cant have your cake and eat it... What the hells the point in having it then!!!

In the TV commercial, they show a plane for a split second that appears to be a 737-400...
