LAN B767-300

Mon Aug 22, 2005 2:29 pm

I am thinking of flying LAN to Peru in November and I am wondering how many of their B767-300s are installed with PTVs? And if its likely I will get one on the JFK-LIM-JFK route.

The new Thales IFE system installations will not have begun yet.

All LAN 3-class 767s and A340s have PTVs, and have for a while, IIRC:

It is. That article isn't an article at all. It is a BusinessWire written and released by LanChile. LAN's parent company (LANChile, SA) is based in Chile, their airline corporate operations (LanChile) are based out of Miami. Santiago obviously gets final call on the shots, but most of their stragetic planning is done out of their Miami headquarter. I have no idea why. The LAN building is located in Kendall on US-1. They occupy a lot of the building's eight floors

I flew on the LIM-SCL leg of a flight from MIA-CCS-LIM-SCL, a B763 with not only PTVs but AVOD PTVs! It was a most pleasant surprise I can tell you. Well recommended I can tell you - free wine, excellent food, very friendly flight attendants, hot Central/South American beauties etc. Just don't get on the stopping service - the ex-MIA pax were pretty shattered by the time they got to SCL.

Very likely, as the flight receives 3 class a/c. I've flown to LIM in a "BIclase" (just a SCL-LIM-SCL flight), former Souther Winds bird and it didn't. Flights to the Caribbean and MIA usually get them as well.

Enjoy LAN!, you'll see how they welcome you to LAN at the very counter. Are you flying via UIO?

German? You've got to be kidding, right? Central America does have its beauties - the beauty doesn't stop at the border between Central and South America, you know!

PS - Germans look like most other Europeans - nothing extra good, nothing bad. Just lose the white socks and sandals please!  Wink

You sure? I think the beauty starts in Darien (the Colombian part) and goes down from there.

Which 763s does BOG get? DO they have PTVs?

LOL, but you know that opposites attract. See most Hispanics LOVE blonds with light colored eyes, that is why Germans are a "beauty" to most in Latin America. Just like a lot of Germans love those dark features.  hearts

Never knew they had Avod in every seat even in economy! What is the brake down? How many 3-class birds, and how many 2-class?

Yeah, and I should know, being a white European with a dusky Asian girlfriend! Each of us can't see the attraction in themselves!
