My question is what is it doing there? Does it always fly there? Was it a charter? Did it fly out of LAX?

Do a search. They have 737s based in the area to fly for Continental Micronesia, though I don't know if they are still branded as Micronesia.

It is a CO Micronesia flight, probably from Guam.

No, no, no. It's the new non-stop from CLE.

No, wait. The new non-stop from CLE would be a XXXRJ-145.

They still fly under the Air Mike certificate, but are branded, marketed, and numbered as Continental flights.

Here is a picture of a CO 737 in Tokyo, My question is what is it doing there? Does it always fly there?

If you remember a few years back when the US Navy EP-3 made the emergency landing in China after being rammed in flight by the Chinese fighter, they flew the crew back to Hawaii on an Continental Airlines-Air 'Mike' 737-800. Before that Continental used DC-10's and 727-200's.

Though not labeled differently, Air Mike generally only uses two planes on their routes. 738 with mid cabin lav, and 76H with higher capacity economy section.

Does anybody know if the Air Mike 738s are going to get winglets?
These ETOPS sectors tend to be long and ideal candidates for winglet version of the 738s.

CO flies 737s from 7 locations in Japan to Guam. The flight from NGO to GUM is less than 3 hours.

I see them twice a day at NGO.

Carpethead,

The 738s flying for CMI are due to have winglets installed later this year. Only question yet to answer is where they will have them done (costly to fly them all the way to MCO!)...

And all of our 738s have ETOPS on them, both on CMI and mainland US planes.

I think they probably will do it at MCO and just rotate aircraft from the mainland into Air Mike as the current ones leave to get winglets installed. They can always fly revenue segments on the way to MCO to reduce the cost.

HNL still uses CO Micronesia logo signs and door mats on their cargo warehouse. Although they are in the current blue and gold globe livery.

Air Mic 800's are going to HKG to have their winglets installed. We have an Air Mic tech rep here in MCO this week to observe the winglets being installed on our 700's and to learn the paper work requirements before going to HKG to supervise the installation there.

We do swap airplanes out with Air Mic from time to time. But only when they come up for heavy check which we do here in MCO also.
Is it broke...? Yeah I'll fix it.
