Scrapped DC-10 In EZE. Who Did It Belong To?

Thu Aug 25, 2005 9:18 pm

Ok just back from EZE. Yesterday on the way to the airport I noticed a scrapped DC-10 in two pieces behind the hangers, just next to it was a DC-8. Who did these belong to?

Hi!

The only DC-10 I know in EZE is YV-135C ex: VIASA that is there since more than a dozen years, is that the one? All white, in pieces?

The DC10 indeed to Viasa, aircraft had run out the runway in poor weather back in 1992.

The DC8 was from Argentine airline TRAFE. A charter company. It has been sitting in EZE for nearly 30 years.

It was VIASA's last flight with the DC-10 to EZE. It is said that the VIASA pilots did it on purpose, to take revenge to what IB was doing to VIASA.

EZE - Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini de Ezeiza - located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

If that was true, looks like there was no need of an "external help" to finish with Viasa
variety is the spice of life; that's what made the "old times" so good
