Buying A No Time Jet Engine

Fri Aug 26, 2005 7:21 am

Does anyone know where I might purchase a no time remaining run out commercial jet engine for display purposes---JT8D or even an old JT4. Any idea what the approximate cost would be if I picked it up where it is? And lastly, would there be records on the engine as to hours and which airframes it flew on? Sounds crazy but I got the idea on a recent visit to MVH where there are a bunch of these engines outside and just langusihing in the sun at a parts facility. Believe they could be ex-Southwest.

There's a group over on Yahoo! that is all about MHV, so you might join and ask there...

There are -lots- of JT8D-poweed aircraft out there, not just Southwest's retired 737-200s....
