What Happended To Legend Airlines?

Sat May 06, 2000 5:12 am

Legend started their service April 4, according to their website, but how come there are only 4 pictures of their DC9s on I would suspect photographers would have made a big deal out of it by now if they have scheduled service and their planes zipping everywhere. Is it that they only have one DC9 certified so far or what?

Well they have one aircraft that overnights in LAX at least on Friday nights. It parked at the same gate at Delta's terminal and I saw it evey Saturday morning last month. I then saw it later in the day taxiing out on several occasions. Sorry I didn't copy the registration, however I do think it had the name of a crew chief in scripted blue letters on the outside by door 1L. It also has a very distinct antenna on the top of the fuselage to receive the live Direct TV.

if you are wondering why they don't have anyplanes in dallas yet is because by looking at their private terminal, i don't think it is finished yet and that case, they cannot start operations

Anyone have pics of the terminal? I've only seen the VR pics on their site.

Legend is currently flying from DAL to LAS, LAX, and IAD. They sent me a whole ton of stuff (magazine, safety card, flight schedule) the other day.

They're Up And Running.

I saw two the other day at LAX - one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. I saw N27509 and N12508, both with 'Birth of a Legend' written on the nose.

I Have 'em

I was at LAX last week, and shot an entire roll of film on the one Legend plane. I have the pix developed, and as with nearly all the pix I take, they are great. But I adamantly refuse to make the attempt to post them here, because of the finicky admin. So, if anyone wants a glossy 4X6 well lit, side shot of the Legend, e-mail me, and I can send you one.
