UA Paint Help

Sat Aug 27, 2005 4:46 am

Yes I know this question comes up every so often, and yes I know it's tedious work and yes I did search the forums prior but need the most up to date information for a paper I plan to right on airline management so here goes, does anyone know which of UA planes are sporting the new paint job? I appreciate any help, thanks alot!

If you want the reg, look in the database (just search united, and then enter new as a comment search)

733, 744, 752, 763, 772, 320 all have at least one aircraft in the new livery.

There are no photos in the database of the A319 in the new colors. I don't know if any have been repainted as such.

They're easy to find - go to the photo search page, choose "United Airlines", (leave the other topics open), and in the category of keywords, type in "new colors". You'll get a lot more!!

There are no 319s or 735s in the new livery. Someone here said a lot of 735s will be painted early next year, 319s will be a while as they are all very new.

Here is my last count of the United aircraft (N***UA) in the new livery:

A320: (5) 411, 412, 420, 423, 426
B733: (9) 366, 375, 376, 377, 381, 385, 388, 390, 394
B744: (1) 196
B757: (13) 502, 505, 508, 510, 512, 517, 518, 525, 532, 554, 555, 557, 560
B763: (8) 641, 643, 644, 646, 647, 649, 652, 663
B777: (7) 217, 221, 769, 774, 775, 777, 785

I hope this info helps your paper. Some of these aircraft were seen throughout the UA System as not all are in the database reflecting updated livery.

Sadly, N196UA has seen better days...she had a "mishap" here about a week ago, and the body gear sustained $6mm worth of damage. She hasn't returned to service yet, and there was some brief discussion of scrapping her.

Hopefully, she'll see friendlier skies here soon.

Wow! The only a/c that UA flies into Vegas are those TED airbus units. I haven't seen a mainline a/c in over a year.

I didn't realize the damage was worth 6 mil. I'm surprized that UA was even thinking about scrapping the aircraft. I would have thought that the airframe would still be worth quite a bit.
