Well this is my first post here but I've been reading the site and stuff for probably over a year. Anyways I'm a 21, almost 22 now, year old guy. Ive been going to the university of cincinnati for the last 2 years pursuing an accounting degree but have finally decided to go after my childhood dream of being a pilot. I think working at cvg on the ramp has fueled that alot. Basically I was pretty set on going to Delta Connection Academy up here in Dayton Ohio. The problem is its soooo expensive and pretty much noone in my family supports my decision to become a pilot. I applied for the loan and it came back saying i needed a co signer. I finally got my mom to agree to co sign but working at cvg i talk to a comair pilot just about everyday to see what they think of the school ect. Ive gotten so many mixed answers its really getting frustrating but the last guy i talked too seemed really knowledgable and said that he didnt think it was worth it especially to someone as young as me. He said that i should be able to go to any flight school and get all my ratings for 20-25 thousand. So now im considering going back to UC to do their aviation technology program but I'm just not sure. I guess im scared because I feel like if i just go to some regular program like that my chances of being hired are alot less than if i went to delta connection.
Sorry that was so long but any advice would be GREATLY appreciated
Especially from any pilots that might read this
Thanks! and I'm sure I will be posting alot more
