Well, the ASOS that makes the weather observations at JAN has been out of service since its last observation at 1354Z...

Someone will have to get that working again...

Well, since that area is still getting slammed by the storm it's no wonder that the airports in the area are still closed. Flooding is going to be huge. My guess, you'll see things start to open up Wens-Thurs.

Well..PNS sustained some unknown damage. Power went out where I live for 12 hours. Was windy and rainy all day.

Pensacola Regional Airport PNS will reopen for scheduled flight operations on Tuesday morning, August 30, at 5:00 a.m. Please contact your airline for their scheduled operation schedule and to reconfirm your flights.

Scheduled Flight Updates for Tuesday:
AirTran Airways first inbound flight #421 arrives from Atlanta at 9:17 a.m.

Delta Air Lines will not operate any mainline or connection equipment on Tuesday.
DL employees will not be available at the Pensacola Airport until Wednesday.
Please contact Delta’s 800 reservation line for rescheduling.

US Airways first inbound flight #1293 arrives from Charlotte at 9:55 a.m.
US Airways will begin regular scheduled flights, weather permitting.

There was just some footage of MSY on our local NBC affiliate. It did not look flooded. There was damage to a hangar with a DHL van inside and an Airborne Express sign on it. It's missing most of its roof. They also showed footage of another hangar badly damaged. The control tower was shown and it looks okay, as does the parking garage. That was all I could see from the brief clip.

I think OPNLGuy is trying to link to this thread:

http://www.airliners.net/discussions...eneral_aviation/read.main/2300750/

The damage shown in the pictures linked to in that thread is much worse than was shown on the TV here. Please disregard my report above.
