While flying back from Narita to JFK
, there was a group of who looked like military men checking in ahead of us (AA allows you to check in pretty much any available counter -- so each agent can take passengers to JFK
, etc). Because of their large luggage size, each member of the group was taking a long time to check in, and they had issues about stand-by. An AA
agent saw that the line was being held up due to the large group, who are traveling together but each holding separate tickets. He immediately stepped out, asked the group to assemble behind one counter, and allowed the rest of the passengers to go to the other counter. This was very efficient. The check in thereafter was a breeze. I was glad to be able to check in quickly and run to the observation deck.
