RG doesn' fly MEX-LAX, nor to Ecuador... Was this a diversion? Two diversions? Or could it be a flytecomm mistake? I just started using the software today so I don't know....

That's strange though... RG codeshare to Ecuador and MEX-LAX? I can see maybe MEX-LAX as a GRU-LAX/MEX-GRU overbooking solution, but I wouldn't have expected such a deal....

Thanks though,

May also be a cargo flight, especially since the MEX-LAX sector is in the middle of the night.

fboweb.com says the flight is operated by a DC-10, so it's gotta be a Varig Log cargo flight as RG doesn't have DC-10s in pax config anymore.

Fairly common.

Varig is flying MD11s and DC10s into LAX on a regular basis with similar flight numbers.
