SYD And MEL Spotting Info Please

Sun Sep 04, 2005 10:57 am

As I'm off to SYD and MEL during October, whats the best areas for spotting in the SYD domestic (DJ terminal), around the SYD International Terminal and the MEL domestic and International Terminals? What tarmac views from the DJ blue room at SYD are there? I've looked on the SYD and MEL web-sites and terminal/tarmac pictures on a.net at both SYD and MEL but can't work out any good spots. I will be on foot so as close as possible to the terminals. Is there any info on what different aircraft during October will be at SYD and MEL, other then what currently flys to MEL and SYD

Thank you

Try the following websites:

http://www.airsidetarmactours.com/

Offer great tours airside on a bus around the airport... I did this a year or so back, and it was amazing... I keep meaning to book in for another one!

For spotting try: http://www.acay.com.au/~willt/yssy/enthus/welcome.html

Gives some info on different areas... Hopefully useful to you! Enjoy Sydney!

Thanks Dugway. I will give the tarmac tour a miss, even thou that was one of the things I was wanting to do, because I'm only in SYD for 2 full days before flying to MEL.

777ER,

Just watch that train ticket to the airport. I was surprised at how much it cost when I went to that tarmac tour. I guess that the taxi wouldn't be much cheaper, or if not, more expensive.

One thing that I would have loved on that tour was if they would clean the windows more often. A great experience anyway.
It's all about the destination AND the journey.
