EasyJet Vs. Ryanair - Airlines In Battle Via Web

Tue Sep 06, 2005 9:04 am

Well checking Easyjet News today and I Stumble across this article..

http://www.easyjet.com/EN/News/ireland.html

After reading I went right to the Ryanair's website to see what was happening and yes indeed...

http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/news....r=05&month=aug&story=cst-en-230805

Looks Like these 2 Lowco's are in Website Battle..

Wonder what Ryanair will respond with?

(Sorry if this has been posted, search showed nothing)

It's pretty standard for FR to have a stab at U2 (and others) via the website. Thankfully EZY tend not to get involved in such spats. IMHO the statistics may themselves be "accurate" but you must think about the background of how these stats have come about to understand how this can be the case.

U2 choose not to fly to the more "regional" (the most politically correct word and appropriate word that I can think of), of airfields that FR do. FR upon landing at a particular airfield, may find that this particular arrival is the only aircraft there at the time. You get my drift? Much easier to obtain a quick turn on the ground than somewhere that's a little more "populated" with different carriers/aircraft types at any particular time....

As one easyJet ad says FLY TO AN AIRPORT NOT AN AIRFIELD!!! Ryanair also has more flights therefore so if Ryanair has a spat of delays their statistics are not effected as much as EZY.s!

Happy Posting!

“Maybe the figures are in there somewhere but we can't find them and they are becoming almost as hard to find as an Easyjet low fare.

Nearly as hard to find as a Ryanair "airport"!

GO EZY! This makes me love the Big Orange even more, and makes a laughing stock out of FR, brilliant, just brilliant!

To be honest, I thought that easyJets comments were more insulting than Ryanair's response.

For me, I think that Ryanair handled the situation quite nicely indeed!

EasyJet was responding to Ryanair, not the other way around. The Ryanair 'article' was posted first.
