while there are no deliveries /orders mentioned by Airbus:

They operate 6 767's now, did I miss something?

About time - lets hope they upgrade their inflight product as well! Still, the A332 still doesnt have the legs to do LHR-Bandar Seri Begawan in one hope with a useful payload so looks like the stop at DXB will be kept.

That will be a damn fine looking A330 in those colours though have to say!
What do you mean you dont have any bourbon? Do you know how far it is to Houston? What kind of airline is this???

The job description says "proposed" fleet of A330's, so it looks like they are planning to lease/order them. Good for them!

Flight International (ATI) picked up the phone after reading the ad in their own magazine (& a.net ?).  Smile

"The government-owned carrier is currently seeking pilots for a “proposed” A330 fleet, as it is being described in its advertisements. The advertisements say it wants to hire the pilots on three-year contract terms.

A spokeswoman for the airline will only say that “our management is currently considering options”. However industry sources say the airline is actively seeking A330s to lease.

Remember this is the Kings plane, so you won't be flying this one when booking Royal Brunei.

It is the one and only A340-8000 ever constructed...

"The 275,000kg (606,275lb) max takeoff weight A340-8000 is based on the 200 but has extra fuel in three additional rear cargo hold tanks and offers a 15,000km (8100nm) range with 232 three class passengers (hence the A340-8000 designation). It too is powered by CFM56-5C4s. One has been built for the Sultan of Brunei." (from link below)

Good luck getting any takers. The RBA flight ops department is in a complete shambles now and the pilot salary package is one of the worst out there (up until 3 or 4 years ago it was OK- and very generous even before that time). You know you have a problem when captains jump ship to become first officers at other airlines, but due to the cultural differences in addressing these issues, upper management prefers to pretend the problem doesn't exist.

They have recently completed a retrofit of the Business Class product on the entire B763 fleet, now featuring flat beds, and the product is simply outstanding, for sure when the prices they charge for it are being taken into account.
