hi 777ER,

well, seems like many people worldwide are on strike!
Not good for NZ to wait longer and longer for the 777... I guess they need them  Wink

I hope they find a solution...

I told you this last week, all these threads about on time delivery and entry in to service were nothing but fantasy.

A new customer 777 usually takes 5 weeks of B and C flights...ZK-OKA has not even had it's first B1 flight.

Once the strike is over it will be another week to fly, then 4 weeks for delivery.

So, if the strike is over on Jan 1 2006 look for it to be delivered in the second week of February (as an example).

Well this will not do the Boeing workers any good at all .
Air NZ will no doubt have already taken bookings and I guess they will have to rearrange. Either put on a 74 or a couple of 76-300 extra flights.
This surely must have a flow on effect for the Airline. It can`t do otherwise.
I also suppose it means they cannot get rid of the oldest 767-300`s?

Cheers

4 weeks, that's not good!

They aren't going anywhere till April 2006.

Like ZK-NBT said, none leave till April 06, and it isn't the oldest ones which will leave first, but the costliest to lease. NCN and NCO are the newest in the fleet, and they will be gone with 12 mths.

Thanks for that NZ1. I had automatically assumed that It was the oldest ones which would go not thinking about the leasing costs.

Incidentally, the article below:
http://www.stuff.co.nz/stuff/0,2106,3404277a13,00.html

Says that Air New Zealand could get millions for the delay in supplying the Aircraft.
This obviously depends on the length of the delay. The Airline has been inconvenienced by not having the aircraft available.
So Boeing will have to make some amends.

Cheers
