"Set Love Free" At WN Stations

Tue Sep 13, 2005 11:37 am

When I arrived at JAX last night the WN employees were putting up decorations with the Set Love Free symbol on them. How many stations are doing this and is it the big push for pax to contact congress before the vote on elimination of the WA?

I have to say, WN is handling this situation well with all this marketing and such. They are doing a great job. They are probably trying to let every one know so lots of people bring it up and the law gets repealed which is fine by me.

WN likely has some sort of anti-W.A. kiosk at all of its stations. I know the petitions can only be signed by Texas residents of voting age, so they are only distributed on Texas flights.

The idea behind the Congressional letters is to spread the base for an anti-W.A. vote to districts that otherwise probably wouldn't care. Yeah it's a big deal in Dallas, but when a few lawmakers in figure out they can get more air service in their community, it starts to matter for them.

All stations that want to participate. It's part of "Set Love Free" week. All employees have been given t-shirts, wrist bands, and also a gate decorating contest of sorts, which is what you saw at JAX. Here in SAT we had a jail cell (constructed by a ramp agent) around gate 3/5, informational flyers, gate games, cookies, and some employees walking around in TJ Love costumes for the kids.

Just all part of an ongoing effort to educate the public about the W/A. Efforts may be on hold in Congress for a while due to more pressing issues, but Southwest knows this a long uphill process and is prepared for this to take years if needed.

Regardless of what some congressman on some important committee says or the whining from Cox over at DFW...WN is not going to let up.

I overheard one WN employee the other night talking about decorating and was a little confused as to what she was talking about, but now it makes sense.

I also saw another employee here in FLL wearing a shirt that said "Wright is not always right"

I noticed it in Phoenix today. All the gates in the D concourse (beautiful concourse by the way) were decorated in some way. Our gate D7 had a paper chain and a message saying "break the chains of love".. thought that was catchy.

Two of our flight attendants were wearing the "Wright is Wrong T-Shirts."
