What's Up With This Picture

Wed Sep 14, 2005 5:54 am

This picture has been today's most popular. What's so amazing about it that makes it more popular than the others ? Did I miss something out ?

Regards

There is no picture but I will assume it is the OS 772. it is the first 772 in OS new colors.

when i saw that OS 772 i did a double take. It looked like a 767 at first, but at 2nd glance, i saw it was a 777. their colors look MUCH better on the 777 IMO

The caption says that it is fresh from the paint shop, so I'm thinking it is the first aircraft in OS' new livery?

Just a guess

I was surprised as well when I saw that picture. Didn't know that they ordered T7s.

they didn't - but they bought Lauda Air, who had the 777, and eventually they have been introduced into the OS fleet. They have been flying OS flight numbers for a while!

Ummmm,
I saw it, and, oh, I'm not likin' it! Yuk!  yuck

Never liked powder blue on a plane. Guess that's why I never liked Korean Air.

I was talking about what I find an ugly livery . Not talking about an aircraft type.
OS's A340 look as ugly as their B777 ...

Concerning the a/c type, now ... It's just a matter of taste.
Personnally, Give me an A340 anytime against a B777.

The other odd feature of the new OS livery is the shadow under the new logo, which doesn't lend itself to the fuselage of a plane as well as the Wrigley's gum logo of the past. And yes, that blue is bad when juxtaposed with the bright red. Ugh -- of course Austrian has always been allowed to run amok with the colors. See a flight attendant if you need more evidence of that.

The light blue makes it look like a toy.

I don't follow OS; the ship is named "Melbourne", I take it they serve Australia? What is the routing?
What intercontinental routes do their long range aircraft serve?
A340?
B777?

I'll say this much, this is certainly not the prettiest 777 I've seen.

I can't believe you guys don't like the Austrian colors. I may be biased, but just because an airplane has blue on it doesn't mean it's ugly. Also, I hate to break it to you guys, but blue and red do actually go together. Anyway, regardless of whether you like the new paint job, it's always exciting to see an airplane in new colors (like the jetBlue E190).

For me, the latest c/s is far better than the one with the blue/green cheatline and the arrow logo glued in the middle of the flag/tail.

I don't like the OS livery in general but one has to say that it looks better on the T7 than on the A340, has to mention that I like both types of Aircraft.

So what was that you just stated as fact? But what about your other post?

Quoting UAcosCS (Reply 19):
absolutely nothing.

So the first time an aircraft type gets a certain paint job isn't worth even looking at? I don't like every paint scheme out there, but when an aircraft gets that pain job for the first time, I still think it's worth a gander.

I would expect OS to reduce their long haul models in the coming years.

An airline of this size can´t operate the Airbus A330-200, the A340-200 and -300, the B767-300 and the B777-200, it's just a mess!!!

I think a good option would be to fly A330 and B777. The A350 would fit them well, and maybe they could use just one model for all their flights.

Agur,

From a majority on this site, looks like nobody likes the light blue. Is that fact? It is from a group of folks who have commented.

And what about my other post? Please explain.

I agree absolutely, the blue is looking absolutely horrible. They had such a great livery and it is sad to see that they replaced it with this sorry a$$ excuse for an airline livery!

It's the first 777 painted in the colours of Austrian.Soon all Lauda Air airplanes are going to be painted in this uninspired livery.
And by the way, i don't see anything special on the Emirates 777 picture, but that's just my opinion.
