Flytecomm / Netjets Question

This topic may be better suited for Tech Ops, but then again it's not extremely technical so I put it here. If you all think it should be moved over there feel free to request it or move it and whatnot, no offense will be taken.

I'm pretty sure that Netjets on Flytecomm is "Executive Jet Aviation" so if I'm wrong let me know about that...

Often times on Flytecomm when seeing little Bizjets flying into random airports (I'm particularly interested in MGW, especially this week with the 84 Lumber Classic PGA event in Fayette County, PA) and seeing an aircraft type listed as GALX. Now I know Gulfstreams don't get bigger than the V, so that doesn't sound right. I often thought GALX might be a Global Express, but the routes these planes are most often seen on seem rather illogical for a plane of that size/range. So does anyone know what a GALX actually is?? Thank you!!

GALX is a Gulfstream G200 or IAI 1126 Galaxy

As RobK stated... if they are flying without passengers they will use their tail number as their callsign which ends in "QS"... If they are flying passengers they will used "Exec Jet" as their callsign and should show up on your flight tracker as "EJA228" or something similar. I'm not familiar with flytecomm but EJA is the ATC designation and I've seen it used on other flight tracking software such as Passur.

This is going strictly from memory... Anything in the 200 series (IE EJA 220 or N220QS) is a falcon 200, listed as F2TH... Anything in the 300 series will be Citation V's, 400 series are G-IV's, 500 series are Gulfstream 5's, 600's are Citation Excel's, 700's are the Gulfstream 200's/Galaxies, 800's are hawkers, and 900's are Citation X's... I think that's it...

Since you've got a PGA event, also look for "OPTxxx", and also "LXJxxx" as this is Flight-Options and Flexjet (same as Netjets)... If flightcomm is displaying tail numbers the Options planes usually end in "LX" or "TA" and the the Flexjet planes will end in "FX"... You might see other smaller companies like Five Star (FIVxxx or tail numbers ending in "CS")

Global Expresses will show up as "GLEX" if they use standard ATC codes...

This should help out your hunt for ID'ing business aircraft...

Also if flying international. Often see them going to Bahamas and Europe as full tail number, not as EJAnnn.
