Interesting were his points that United's plan, in his opinion, will fail.

1) Because United plans call for oil to be at $50.00 or less per barrel.

2) United plans on 2 to 3 percent growth in revenue despite an 80 year trend of decreasing ticket prices (when adjusted for inflation.)

His summation of their plan would appear quite dismal. Good luck, United.

The analyst's remarks, unfortunately, make all too much sense to me. Really, United's business plan appears lacking. My worry is that United will either be unable to exit due to continued bleeding, or it will exit "weakly" and have to reorganize once again, as US Airways has had to. Either way, we employees would have to face many months of more uncertainty, and another round of wage cuts and work rule changes. I don't see all of our unions agreeing to another round of cuts, however. What a mess! When and how will this misery end?

With that, you have a couple of problems, since UA says that they will not exit till Feb. that means the bankruptcy laws will have change, this throws a new twist because if they do enter, and dont exit within 18 months, then bye bye UA, or for that matter anyone who enters bankruptcy after mid October is gone if they are not out within 18 months.

This point alone should make the judge reject their plan.
