TG A346 Seating

Fri Sep 16, 2005 9:19 am

I'm booked to fly AKL-BKK non-stop on TG's A346 in December. I just recently flew on their MD-11 on the same flight.
Suprisingly, since I've heard stories of how old and uncomfortable the interior of theMD-11 is, I enjoyed that flight more than I did on the return 744.

Anyway, I've reserved seat 49K. I just checked TG's website for their seatmaps and I'm a bit confused. At the top of the back section it says 34" pitch but at the bottom it says 32" pitch. http://www.thaiair.com/Travel_Destin...tion/Aircraft_Seatmaps/A3461_l.htm

Has anyone been on this aircraft? What do you think of it compared with the 744/MD-11 comfort? Which seats are the smaller 32" pitch?

Cheers

In a bizarre, TG sort of way, they have decided to go for 32 inch pitch in seats A & B from rows 44 to 58.

Given that you are in seat 49K, you should be fine..

Hoping to fly on the A346 in November..

TG does tend to have their own bizarre way sometimes. Wonder how A/B rows at less pitch makes much of a difference if any?

Does anyone have any pics of the interior? I see that A.net doesn't have any on the database.

Ah, the mysteries of TG.

It appears that TG didn't opt for a lavatory next to door 4L to make a pair with the one at door 4R. That left room for an extra row or two on the left side if they squeezed it down to 32" pitch.

Nonetheless, 32" is pretty standard, 34" is nice, and the 36" pitch on the A340-500 is downright generous!
