Air France 747 In BKK Hangar?

Tue May 09, 2000 10:42 pm

On the 26th of April while connecting at BKK I saw an AF 747 (looked like a passenger -100 or -200) in the hangar next to Thai's. Anyone know why that plane was there? The registration was F-GCBS (not too sure about the S though, might have been GCBJ also...)

It has to be F-GCBJ as we do not have any 747-200 called F-GCBS.
About its doings in Bangkok, I can't tell you anything apart that the aircraft is a passenger aircraft dedicated to the high density market of the westindies and indian ocean.

AFI Too Busy

Wed May 10, 2000 2:55 am

Air France Industries could not make the C-check for this 747, because they were already too busy, so Air France made a RFP and Thai Airways got the deal over the five other proposals.
