Codeshare Question

Tue Sep 20, 2005 7:44 am

As a U.S. Govt. employee, when I travel on business I am required by law to be on a U.S. flagged airline unless my destination, or portion of my route is not served by one. So a short notice trip from HNL to Fukuoka Japan (sorry I don't know the code) looks like it might go to me. I prefer to fly on UA, but a quick look at the flights (on orbitz... to compare airlines) looks like the only open options out of HNL are codeshares operated by ANA. That makes me curious, since the flight carries a UA flight number on the itinerary, would the bean counters accept that as flying on UA? I would like to assume so since they are collecting my fare then paying NH to get me A to B. Does anyone know for sure??? Thanks!

UA gets the money, and you'll be on UA ticket stock, so you'd be ok.
