MSP Wx Diversions.

Thu Sep 22, 2005 1:39 pm

MSP had some crazy weather tonight, very untypical of late september. A few diversions I found.

NW546 DENMSP -diverted FSD.
HP753 PHXMSP -diverted OMA. Attempted OMAMSP returned back to OMA.

And today's NW44 from MSP to Gatwick has just diverted into Manchester - I hope we see NW operate regular services here soon!

Quite the powerful storms last night. Check this diversion out:
Mesaba 3208
Departs: Marquette-Marquette County, MI (MQT), Arrives: St. Cloud, MN (STC)
Scheduled: 7:38PM Scheduled:
Actual: 7:29PM Actual: 8:30PM
Aircraft: SAAB-SFC

Departs: St. Cloud, MN (STC) Arrives: Minneapolis/St. Paul-Int'l, MN (MSP)
Scheduled: Scheduled: 8:15PM
Actual: 12:54AM Actual: 1:32AM
Aircraft: SAAB-SFC
Note: Diversion/delay due to air traffic conditions.

That's 4 hrs and 24 mins on the ground at STC. I hope those people didnt have to sit in the Saab the whole time, but fear they probably did. I can't imagine the shape of my knees after 6 hrs in a Saab 340!

I've got the full list of diversions on the website. I count 36 flights diverted. RST gets the award this time for most and best diversions.
