HLX (X3) Expands In Summer 2006

Thu Sep 22, 2005 3:21 pm

http://book.hlx.com/de/service/pressecenter_10002.html (not available in English, yet).

New destinations / routes:
From HAJ: MAN, ORY, DBV, "Mailand" (= MXP or LIN ?, but no word on the current BGY service), GWT. 1 additional a/c stationed (3 --> 4 a/c)

Not complete, but ...
From STR: OPO, LEJ (twice daily), DBV, Rijeka
From CGN: OPO

A local newspaper at HAJ is quoting a spokes person of HLX as "Wir stärken die Standorte Hannover, Köln und Stuttgart, deshalb können wir in Hamburg und Berlin Kapazitäten einsparen und ein Flugzeug mehr in Hannover stationieren.“ --> "We will strengthen our bases at HAJ, CGN and STR thus reducing capacities at HAM and TXL; one additional a/c will be based at HAJ".

More excerpts:
HLX is trying to break even for this financial year; load factors in recent moths are said to having been as high as 85 % with 3.7 million pax estimated for 2005.
Summer timetable will go on sale today (22-SEP-2005 1800h CEST).

Nice to see HLX expanding again. Is the MAN-HAJ route confirmed? Can't really see any mention of manchester in the article, not they i fully understand german! Hope they do operate the route, they are a good airline and i was really impressed with them when i flew to CGN with them.

Edit- just found confirmation of the route in english:

So NCL-MUC and CGN aren't coming back then?

Is EDI-HAM being dropped after March?

Hmmm,
while 19 destinations from HAJ in summer 2006 look impressive, with BIO and
VLC another two of my favourites have been shelved permanently (after REU).

EDIT: Probably AB´s persence on the Germany <-> Spain route is too dominant and while AB is codesharing with HF, HF/HLX probably wanted to reduce capacity on routes to Spain in order to achieve a good yield.

From what it looks like 3 routes from HAM will not yet be bookable for summer '06 (DUB, Klagenfurt, Salzburg). Likewise EDI-HAM is there until march in the booking centre. What about CGN-SNN? Don't see that mentioned for Summer '06. Seems like they haven't yet decided exactly what they'll do. Well, there's a bit of time left anyway!!
