Monarch To Offer More Routes And Flights At BHX

Fri Sep 23, 2005 5:53 am

According to an email I just received from ZB, BHX has proved very popular as a result of which they will be adding more flights to Faro and Malaga for summer 2006, and they will also be launching 3 hot new destinations; Mahon, Palma and Murcia.

From May 2006, from BHX ZB goes double daily to AGP, daily to Faro, more flights to Alicante, daily to TFS, 3 x weekly to Mahon, weekly to PMI and 2 x weekly to Murcia. Fares start from £14.99 (or £34.99 including taxes).

Agents have reported that ZB has had a very good summer, so they must be getting it right. I wonder if flybe have also had success at BHX?

Excellent news, about time BHX had an expansion!

Any long haul charters being offered by Monarch this year from BHX?

I guess these are all A320 flights?

At MAN, the 'traditional' holiday destinations, like AGP, PMI and FAO, witnessed a downturn in traffic, so I wonder what the future holds at MAN and BHX regarding these kinds of routes.

Seems that the loads/yields to AGP and FAO from BHX have exceeded ZB's expectations for the summer just gone by. It is the charter airlines that have hurt, hence Monarch going from a major charter airline to a scheduled LCC.
