Aviation Statistics - Lufthansa Link

Fri Sep 23, 2005 8:33 am

As I was browsing the Lufthansa website and reading about Lufthansa's fleet, I came across the following link -- Ranking the world's airlines by various criteria. It is very interesting and informative, I am sure most other Airliners.Net members will agree.

I was surprised to see that Continental Airlines carried more passengers in 2004 than British Airways.

Continental Airlines - 40,548,000 Approximately
British Airways - 35,463,000 Approximately

The information is sourced from IATA World Statistics.

According to Southwest's web site they carried 70.9 million passengers in 2004. Something is not right.
Not only is this incomprehensible but the ink is ugly and the paper is from the wrong kind of tree

AFAIK WN is not member of IATA. So they are not listed in that table.
