Have Any Of You Flown The Original Midway?

Thu May 11, 2000 7:17 am

If you have I would like to know about your experience. How was the service, what type of equipment, what year, what route.....basically anything. Thank you in advance.

I flew Midway Airlines on 30 June 1982 form DCA to MDW on a DC-9-30. I don't remember much else except that I was disappointed to fly on a DC-9. I'm from Stockholm, Sweden and even by that time, I had been a quite a few DC-9s by SAS. The flight on Midway was my first domestic flight in the USA, where I now live since 1992. The777Man

In 1990 my parents flew on Midway from MDW-PHX. At the time Midway was cheaper than United or American on the Phoenix route. If I remember the stories correctly they had things like good bag lunches, something that is common now. The only downside is that they had to go in and out of Midway airport... quite a drive when we lived in the northwest suburbs. I believe they flew on a MD-80.

I flew in July 1986 the route Cleveland-Chicago(Midway)-Cleveland. I never heard of this airline before and was very well impressed. I am from Argentina, my relatives in Cleveland took me to a sidetrip to Chicago. Flew a DC9-30, which looked impecable in the inside; service was very courteous. The fare was quite cheap I remember; also they had a quite good inflight magazine called Midway.
