What Routes Are JetBlue's E190's Flying?

Tue Sep 27, 2005 12:29 am

With an E190 delivered and 7 more within the next 3 months, aren't there new routes to match the new aircraft?

When is BOS-NYC service starting?

They are not yet in revenue service and as far as I know the routes have not been announced yet.

Promotions most likely. I remember reading that they will not enter service until November sometime.

I may be mistaken, but isn't the IFE installation being performed in MCO??

I heard from someone in the Jet Blue inflight department that, because Jet Blue is so busy with initial training classes for the F/A's, they are unable to get the existing F/A's into training classes for the E190 so they don't currently have any F/A's trained on it. No F/A's means no revenue service. Though Jet Blue's F/A's are not union which means they could potentially just train the new hires on this aircraft and give them E190 lines out of seniority order right out of training without any repercussions.

What routs of B6's, if any, aren't filling up to their full potential. I would imagine that if there are any of these routs where an A320 is not filling close to the maximum capacity that these aircraft would replace the A320 on these routs for the time being. Could this be the case with the first couple of months of 190 service at B6? Also, shouldn't B6 announce new routs fairly soon if they plan to fill up aircraft?

Isn't there a thread about this topic just about every week? I'm guessing the initial E190 routes haven't been announced yet otherwise everybody in here would know by now.

This is very incorrect. They can't go ahead with training current F/A's on the 190 until some other steps have been taken such as the FAA unplanned land evac, the FAA planned dicthing, and proving runs. Once that's all completed, E190 training can begin, and the E190 training will be rolling meaning you can choose to get trained on it now or later.

Whoever you spoke to in our Inflight department obviously has no idea what they are talking about.

Tried to, but spell check seemes to be not working. But you're right, I should have checked my spelling myself. My bad.

its all in the fun of speculation. after 2 yrs of waiting we've finally received the first of the many planes coming to us. now we're just waiting to get the official word of where these planes are going. its actually a really nice looking aircraft. looking forward to being a passenger on it one of these days.

within the next cpl weeks we should start hearing about the first flights where these birds are going to!

Thanks for the update. Can you tell us the progress on the other steps? With the delay in delivery, has the first service dates been pushed back?

You'd better! lol Seriously, its the economics, range, and market opening potential that make the E190 exciting. I'm sorry to say that being photogenic wasn't a design criteria.  spin

Initally B6 had claimed the E190 CASM would be 1.0 cents more than the A320. Is that still true with today's oil prices? (Or at least close, say 1.2 cents more?)

Now another question, does anyone know what proving runs are being done? Hmmm? That would be a good hint of the first year routes!

Yeah that was my shot. B6 brings all the new planes to MCO to have PTVs installed. It was a test flight around Central Florida when I got the shot.
