Which is your favorite commercial aviation magazine?

I enjoy the information provided by

"Airways, a global review of commercial flight"
-------and---------
"Airliners, the world's airline magazine"

Those Brits really know how to make good mags. All are fairly expensive though. Airways is great, good pics, nice articles, and a good balance of airlines and the airliners they fly. Airliners sometimes focuses a little too much on older planes. Airways is a much smarter looking mag. though. The new entrant Airliner World isn't bad, though my Borders Books gets it rarely. It's first section isn't as well organized as Airways "On the Airways." For those interested in real in-depth articles on commercial aviation, Flight is a well-writtn, comprehensive weekly also from the land of crumpets and tea. A godo trade publication not available at book stands is Airline Business. Hard to find, at least for me.

I subscribe to "Airways", 3 year subscription. I borrow "Aviation and Space technology" from the library. I read "Flight International" at Borders every week (I don't want to buy it). I visit Barnes and Noble Every month to read "Airliner World". I also read "Airliners" whenever it's at Borders. I don't want to buy them because they cost to much ($6-$7). why buy when you can just read it there. I subscribe to "Airways" because it's not to expensive, but it's also not to cheap. It's well worth the money. So I think "Airways" is the best.

Because I'm of a certain age (40+), I enjoy the emphasis on older airliners in "Airliners". Its not always that easy to come by in the UK so I don't get every edition. I also buy "Airways" from time to time. I do buy "Airliner World" every month because it is British/European orientated but I do not think the articles are as well written as in Airliners or Airways. There is not enough of the personal touch and too many of the articles appear to be based on press handouts. I would like Airliner World to do a bit more for the nostalgic airliner fan - like me!

I like Airliner World but have you noticed that they have been hanging around in Brazil Recently.
I used to get Airliners but the last one I got was the "Mourning the cheat line" issue with the bits on the 777,717 and 757-300. After that they suddenly vanished.

I like Airliner World a lot, however as someone else stated, the articles are written too much like a press release...most are very dry, but contain good information, and pictures rarely seen in US magazines.

The best magazine overall is Air Transport World. There are so many airlines that advertise in there it is unbelievable. The news section is second to none (well...maybe to Airliner World), and the articles are very well written.

I subscribe to Airways and Airliners. I buy Flight International and Airliner World at Borders bookstore whenever I see them there which is pretty sporadic; and I read my brother's Aviation Week which he subscribes to. Of all of those I like Flight International and Aviation Week the best. The others don't seem to be very objective. I can't remember reading anything critical in the least in Airways or Airliners about an airline or an aircraft. I find their breathless tone about every airline or every aircraft tiresome. But I still subscribe to them so whose fault is it?   Hopefully by using so many sources, and friends in the industry, I'm able to come up with a level headed opinion.

I prefer Airways.
They provide all of the information I could want to know and I think they have better pictures than Airliner World or Airliners.

Airways has good articles. I prefer their writing because of the way they get in depth about certain subjects.

Airliner World isn't bad but sometimes I tend to think that their articles are a little half-hearted and too to the point.
I enjoy Airways' articles about airports like the issue a while back about the closing of Kai Tak or the article they wrote way back when about Tokyo NRT.

I like the Debrief section, Tales of the Ramp, and Rick Drury's Flightlines article, which provides a pilot's perspective of aviation.
