Orient Thai

Thu Oct 06, 2005 12:34 am

Do Orient Thai still exist? Or are they now 100% One-Two-Go?

I say this because I was looking through some photos, and 747s which once were painted as Orient Thai now carry One-Two-Go titles!

Orient Thai Airlines is the airline and has always been.

OneTwo-GO is just a marketing brand.

HS-UTD had a heavy check and repaint, and now wears a white OTG livery.

Didn't they operate some of UA's old 747-200's? I remember looking at a picture with seats that resmebled UA's seats. I remember them quite well as we had a delay twice ORD-DEN for 2 hours before we got off and took another flight and ORD-LAX which lasted 4 hours and ended up taking a later flight, a 747-100 on the upper deck. Will never forget those old classics, and then soon, after they were retired, and I think sold to Orient Thai and UPS.

I flew HKG-BKK on Orient Thai (return) last summer. Both flights were on B744s.

I think one of the planes had to be an ex-KLM. I actually ventured on my own to th eupper deck (was completely empty J class seats).

Orient Thai does not have any 744. It must be those old 741s or 742SUDs
