Herpa DC-3

Sat Oct 08, 2005 11:53 pm

Theres supposed to be a DC-3 painted into "Herpa miniature modles" livery. Anyone know when this is to take place?

This is from the Herpa website:

Normally, Herpa produces models based on a real, 1:1 scale aircraft. With the Herpa DC-3 things are now vice versa. The Herpa aircraft in the 1:1 scale is currently being decorated in the United States following the design guidelines of the models in the 1:200 and 1:500 scales.

The DC-3 with the registration N143D was built in 1938, and was operated by Swissair and Ozark Airlines, among others. It started a cargo career in 1974, and is currently being used for type rating training and is often seen touring the country at air shows - soon also in the Herpa colors
