Lagos and Accra will be delinked effective January 2, 2006. From that point onwards, both LOS and ACC
will be getting daily nonstop service from DXB
. Effective February 1, 2006, four of the ACC
services are scheduled to continue into Abidjan. The other 3 services are for now scheduled for an extended ground time at ACC
. I guess EK
is looking for some option to use these ground times efficiently.
As for EK
's plans in West Africa, the airline seems to have made a great move by hiring a number of highly experienced former Sabena Africa specialists to guide its increasing presence in the region. Operations in Africa are challenging in many aspects and need a great level of expertise, and these former Sabena people are bringing just that.
's future growth possibilities in the region are multifarious: cities like Dakar, Conakry, Cotonou, Lome, Porth Harcourt, Abuja, Kano, Doula, Yaounde, and more central Libreville and Kinshasa at some point might all warrant some link with EK
's ever-growing homebase.
