AC PTV's With Avod On Entire Fleet

Wed Oct 12, 2005 7:57 am

Hello all

Is Air Canada the first legacy international airline to install PTV's with Audio and Video on Demand on its entire fleet of widebodies and narrowbodies including regional jets? I know Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz will be the first airline to install PTV's in all regional jets except the 50 seater CRJ. I think this is going to be so cool to have PTVs on short haul and transborder and domestic flights on all narrowbodies. Any comments please. Both EMB 175 and 190 will have PTVs along with CRJ 705 also gets PTVs this year.

I think that AC installing the PTVs is not a good idea. You don't need a PTV on BOS-YYZ; its a 1 hour 45 min flight. Its not going to make AC any more competitive! Peoples care about the price, not about the services anymore. I love AC and Milton, but i dont think this is a good idea. TO answer your original question, i think AC is the first legacy to install PTVs.

mat from BOS

P.S. I flew the E75 on AC (BOS-YYZ) yesterday, IT WAS AWESAUME! One of my new fav. a/c

Given that WS, will eventually have PTVs across its fleet of 737s, AC probably thought it would be wise to install something similar across its narrowbodies, to maintain a similar competitive environment.
