one of the poor features of ba.com is that it doesn't show you what booking class your ticket is. BA
have promised this for some time but it is still yet to show up.
If you are flying in WT
+ you should earn 75 tier pts per leg, 120pts in Club World and 180 in First. In WT
you only earn tier points if you were booked in Y,B,H booking classes.
The way to tell what you are booked in is to get your email sent to you after you booked the ticket and to find the following part:
Ticket Number(s): 125-XXXXXXXX
Payment Type: American Express
Card Number: ***********XXXX
Payment Total: GBP XXXX.80
Date / Issued by: 22 Aug 2005 / British Airways, Newcastle, UK
IATA Number: XXXXXXX
Endorsements: Pax nonref/nonchg/deunba
Fare Details: GBP XXXXX + Tax/Fee/Charge GBP XXXX = GBP XXXX
The bolded part indicates the fare basis and the first letter indicates the booking class of the ticket. In this case it shows I was booked in D class, discounted business class.
Also, you can earn miles and points on OW
partners. The exception to this is BA
miles and tier points cannot be earned on AA
flights between the US and the UK.
