Qantas's 767's: Are They Theirs?

Thu Oct 13, 2005 11:31 pm

I know some of them are their own, but 7 of them were from BA, so are they on lease, and if so how long for?

The 7 BA aircraft are RR powered and are registered VH-ZXA thru ZXG. I think they are on a long term lease, but one of the Aussie guys from QF should be able to confirm.

Thats what I've been waiting for...
There has been a lot of controversy about the 767s that went to QF from BA, so I started the thread to see what is the case.

Have a look at QF's fleet list. All the 767-338ER's are theirs. Then there are 7 BA ones. Also the BAS ones have an additional main door plus the overwing exits whereas QF's have 2 main doors plus the overwing exit. So they look different as well.  Smile

The 7 RR powered 767-336s are on 7 year leases that expire 2007/8.
