the 757 is coming from Ryan International Airlines reg N920RN i believe it is in Arizona now being refurbished and painted. the LGW route will be swapped to a daily 767 starting 30december 2005.
The aircraft is being reconfigured with 16C and 144Y in a 60" pitch up front and 34" pitch in back. The most legroom of any flight to Europe from Ghana. (with the exeption of 5W, however their seat picth will be reduced in the near future to allow preminum passengers seats.)

Also will give a lot of space up front with wider seats then AZ, BA, KL.

Dusseldorf is also planned 3 weekly 767.
they also will codeshare on LOS and ABJ on LH and ET flights.
Soon they will also codeshare with KLM on the daily AMS-ACC-AMS.
Also in the CRS they have 2 daily 767 flights to lagos. not sure if they are ''ghost flights''.
Next destinations, Suarabaya, beirut, paris, Accra

If you knew what was going on you would know G0 won't be flying the route with their own metal.

Don't you think that if G0 was going to codeshare on ET flights between ACC and LOS they would actually have known that they won't fly the route anymore?

Yah you would think, but the fact that the flights were available on Amadeus even after ET was discontinuing that route is what's puzzling.

Was this aircraft leases or purchased by GIA. Local newspapers here in Ethiopia reported that the board of directors of ET approved the 10 million USD investment for getting 24 pc of GIA. I am a little puzzeled because if 24 pc is 10 million, GIA is worth a little over 40 million only????
I can't post a link of the airticle because the website for the paper hasn't been updated yet. But as soon as it is I will provide the link for news brief.

maybe the 10million is an initial investment?
From an old article:
Ghana government with a 25% share in the new airline and 40 percent to Ethiopian Airlines and GIA.
but again this doesn't make sense 105% funded?
Asked if Ethiopian Airways is interested in a 40 per cent share in Ghana Airways he says, “ I cannot comment on the exact number of shares Ethiopian Airlines is buying but generally I will say that it is one of the things on the table.”
http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/artikel.php?ID=80152
but yet again this source is few month old so it can all change

A surprising read the other day was that Ghana Airways has hired Kenya Airways' previous CEO, Brian Presbury, who was siphoned off to Kencargo and then let go of following the decision to reintegrate the cargo division within KQ. At any rate, he mentioned the "schock on the faces" of KL folks when they learnt of his new tenure. Peter is credited for turning KQ around and its expansion into West Africa. Article also included a few words and quotes from our friend ACVitale.

It is also worth noting the sudden shift of Ghanaian newspapers from G0 bashing to lovey-dovey, at least in a couple of recent issues. At any rate, I am sure we will see great things from G0.

Where's the 752 going to fly to once the 763 comes on board? Where's the 763 coming from? I don't see other destinations for the 752 in scheds.

767 not sure where it's coming from but i suspect from ET.
the LGW will be operated by a 767 from 30 december 2005.
Also DUS will receive a 3 767 service. Looks like they will need 2 767 to operate those 2 routes. maybe DUS will initially be served by a 757 then a 767 im not sure just a guess

I really doubt the 767 will come from ET unless it's the old 762. ET's winter schedule is utilizing every available aircraft. BKK is going daily, IAD will see the 4th flight, LGW will see a 3rd flight......SO with the capacity increase in dec i really doubt ET will have any 767 for G0

GIA plans to aquire two 767-300ER aircraft and two MD 90s in January to boost their business operations, both on the international and regional routes.
“GIA’s vision is to be the leading and most respected airline in Africa,” he said. To ensure passenger comfort, the 200 seater plane had been reconfigured into 160 seats made up of 144 economy and 16 business class.
the airline would also launch its services to Dusseldorf,New York and other intra-African routes in 2006.

Has GIA found these aircraft already? The market for 767s is comically tight, and they will probably cost a fortune.

Are they planning to lease or buy?
