Is AC The Only Foreign Carrier To Have...?

Sun Oct 16, 2005 4:38 am

Hello all

I've notice in some photos of AC have huge presence at LGA. I've notice they have their own designated gates with their own logos placed on the gates. Is AC the only international airline to have their own designated gate with their respective logo placed on the gate in any country around the world outside of their homebase? I apologize if this post have been posted but couldn't find it.

Interesting post. In addition to LGA, AC previously owned gates/bridges in ATL, ORD & TPA.

Gate G-1 at ORD was sold several years ago for some obscene price, reportedly in excess of $10 million. The TPA gate was sold, given the downscaling of operations at that station. And while the AC logo still appears at ATL on one of the two gates it previously owned, they were also sold recently.

Reciprocally, I think that NW has their logo (and presumably) owned gate at YWG, as well as CO/AA/US at YYZ.

Here in DEN, British Airways, Lufthansa, Air Canada, and Mexicana all have set gates with their logos on them.

Most if not all airlines operating everywhere have set gates with logos. I think the reference was to actual bridges/jetways. Air Canada doesn't have it's own bridge logo at DEN as all handling is done by UAL.

I'd imagine NW and UA at NRT would have their own gates. And BA has half of a terminal at JFK.

Yes it is large. If you walk one from one end of the terminal to the other, you can see the NW and UA birds in T1. I think the last time I flew to NRT, I saw quite a few KE birds parked there (maybe 2-3?)

Are there some "logo gates" in Europe?
