There are no domestic flights within Eritrea, as far as I know. The only other city that has seen commercial service was Assab, at the south-eastern point of the country, close to the border of Djibouti. The last regular domestic flights were operated by Ethiopian Airlines on an ADD
-ASA-ASM routing, during times of better relations, which now date close to 10 years.
Eritrean has cut back its schedules dramatically, with FCO
each getting 1 flight per week (the slash depicting a through flight), JED
getting two nonstops per week, and then JIB/DXB
getting two flights per week. And Nairobi is no longer on the radar either. Other than this, the airline has no other flights.
With the above, don't know what the two aircraft are used for. Someone had mentioned in another post that their 763 was undergoing maintenance at AMS
- but then again this could have been while it was on a layover. The 762 was last seen at FRA
on the 15th of this month, while the 763 was seen at AMS
as late as September.
Eritrean also does some Hajj charters, and was seen at Manchester and Kano. But this is minute when considering year-round ops.
