Virgin A340-600 Over Manchester Today

Mon Oct 17, 2005 3:36 am

I have been at Manchester Airport for most of the day when at 3.50 PM i noticed a Virgin A340-600 ( G-VATL ) passing overhead, this is the first Virgin 346 i have seen pass above Manchester as most of the time it's the 744's and the occasional A340-300, does anyone know which route this was operating as Virgin usually use the A340-300 on the VS23 to LA

My guess is that would have been the VS11 to BOS. BOS is served by a mixture of A343, A346 and B744.

JFK and EWR also get A346 service, and IAD also gets the occasional 346 - but based on the time you saw it I'd stick with my guess of BOS.

The VS7/8 to LAX becomes an A346 service at the end of this month, weith VS23/24 remaining as an A343
