CO To Put The 733 On The YVR Run

Sat Oct 22, 2005 3:02 pm

It looks like CO will be putting the 737-300 on the YVR route. I thought the 737-300/700 had about the same pax load, if so why would they do this. I love the 700 and will miss the tv's for the 4.5hour flight. My wife was on a CO 733 and told me no tv's and found it boring.

Some of the CO 733's do have TV's and I'd imagine that they would be the ones to fly this route. CO has 735's on the IAH-YYC route, that seems like a long way to go without any IFE, but then again, NW doesn't have IFE on any of it's international A320 flights and I didn't find MSP-YVR that bad.

You didn't specify from where their putting it on. I don't think the 733's have the range for EWR-->YVR so its either IAH or CLE. The B73G might be needed for its range elsewhere in the system.

They have already put them on the Vancouver-Houston run, so they must have the range

Yes for IAH-->YVR.

But you never specified from where. You simply said they changed your flight from a B73G to a B733. So i said the B733 doesn't have the range for EWR->YVR nonstop. SO it must be originating in IAH (Houston) or CLE (Cleveland).

YVR-IAH is 399nm/about 500 sm shorter than YVR-EWR, so range could factor in here. Still, 2111 nm is doable for the 733 on most days, particularly considering neither YVR or EWR is particularly high up or hot (EWR can get hot in the summer, but this isn't the summer, now is it?)

They have had the 733 on the route all summer long. In the summer they have a 2 flights a day to Houston from YVR.They had the 8am flight as a 733 and the noon flight as 73G

YVR-IAH should not be a problem anyway.
