HA 763's HNL/LAS And Seating

Sun Oct 23, 2005 12:02 pm

Hi All

Just confirmed some flights from SYD to LAS via HNL in each direction for June 06. Have flown HA before but only into SFO and out of LAX. Do HA schedule the newer 763's on the LAS flights, or do they still rotate the older birds through this port? I am taking the red-eye out of HNL and the morning departure out of LAS.

Have confirmed 23AB for all four sectors, but if any HA'ers can help me - my travelling buddy is 6ft 6in! and the General Sales Agent for HA in Sydney is not too much help with exit row or bulk head seats.

Stopping in HNL for 48 hours each way (great to break the journey) so not too stressed about connections at HNL etc (which last time were a bit tight).

Cheers for any feedback.

Aloha Onedude,

I have worked 6 roundtrips from HNL-LAS this month and it really is a crapshoot regarding which of our 767's we use on this route. I had the ex-LTU planes on about 6 of the 12 segments.
As for the Sales Agent in SYD not being much help regarding exit row and bulkhead seating, it's because those seats cannot be pre-assigned, it's our company policy. I would suggest that you get to the airport early and if you want the most comfortable seat on the SYD-HNL leg, ask for 26AB or 26HJ. These seats are the second exit row and have the MOST leg room of any of our coach cabin seats on the newer planes which we use exclusively on our SYD flights. Do NOT let them put you in 25ABHJ. These are also exit row seats but they are at the bulkhead with minimal legroom but the worst thing about them is they do not recline which would be brutal on a 10 hour flight.

Hope this helps.

Aloha,
HALFA

In the ex-LTU birds #584 - 586, row 23 has no window, as does row 16. I think the other 763s have plugged windows in other rows but not sure. Seatguru.com isn't much help. They show 43 rows, when HA has 46 rows. If you can try to switch seats, do so. Check photos on the db to see where the blocked windows are.

The 763s are rotated so which one you get will be a toss-up.

All the info that HALFA gave you is correct. Occasionally they do send the "Ansett" aircraft (ac#580-582) out to Australia and Vegas and the rows to request is 32AB and 32HJ. When checking in, try to find out what AC# it is, Rows 32ABHJ for ac#580-582 and 26ABHJ for ac#587-593.I hope you have a great flight with us.
