Wed Oct 26, 2005 2:24 am

Emirates has apparently turned 20 years old today.

I find it strange this was not mentioned on their website.

I find it very odd that they have not used the fact they they are now 20 as a marketing tool to show their experience as a positive thing over younger regional carrier such as QR and EY.

Thats awesome, I first saw an Emirates plane in KHI in 1987, it was an A300
which I believe was loaned to them from PIA.

How time flies. Talk about coming a long way, from a 727-200 and a 737-300 to A380s and 777s. Anybody remember the narrowbodies ?
My definition of cool ? Not trying so hard to be cool.

There will be a nice book out soon commemorating this event, including photos from a.net photogs.
Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been...

I used to fly the B 727 from Dubai to Beirut back in 1993. I remember we used to board the plane from the rear!!! Awesome!!

Maybe 20 years is not enough to make it sound like an experienced airline.

Is it me of QR is not such a newbie since it was formed in 1949... That's a more respectable 56 years old!
I want the European Union flag on airliners.net!

Qatar Airways was re-launched in 1993 and then re-launched operations in 1994!
