A-380 Reservations With Virgin?

Thu Oct 27, 2005 11:27 am

So, again, I ask the Gods of a.net for help... is Virgin (or any other carrier getting the A-380) taking reservations at this time for the maiden flight of the A-380? If they are, do you know the price?

SIA should be pretty soon, I remember back that you can sign up for an email that will update you when it will become available.

If the Nov2006 delivery dates (as posted in another thread) are correct then reservations might be possible from Jan/Feb 2006.All dependent on what route they elect to for first, some route proving flights might be done in advance of them putting the 380's on SIN/LON and SIN/AUSTRALIA routes. So I would expect you might see it on the odd SIN flight to other far eastern cities.

That's a register to get news about SIA's 380 first flight... not actually to pre-book the flight!

Quoting SQ Website:
Singapore Airlines Limited ('SIA') is pleased to invite you to register for e-mail updates about SIA's A380. The e-mail updates are solely to disseminate information selected by SIA about SIA's A380. Registration is not an entitlement to any goods or services or a seat on any SIA A380 flight.

I recall that before NW put the 744 on its intended routes it did quite a number of trips MSP/PHX & MSP/FAR to build crew experience. Might Virgin & Singapore do something similiar?

Common misconception - Titanic wasn't a unique huge new untried design, she was the second ship of the Olympic class design. The first ship - Olympic herself - was launched a year earlier and gave many years of useful service.

Absolutely no relevance to aviation of course !  Big grin

I don't think that I'd like to be on the flight at least until the ac does a few hours on the sky.

If SQ follows tradition, CGK will be seeing lots of A380 action. Is CGK A380 capable?

Just remember, if no airline guarantees the type of equipment they will operate.

If you buy a non-refundable ticket, you might be stuck with a 747 or an A340.

Just be aware of the possibility.

From what my ex friends at JFK told me. VS doesn't want them. it was all for publicity purposes to jump on the band wagon.
