Simple question - anybody with inside information have any insight as to whether or not those of us in the Nagoya area can expect to see nonstop service to LAX anytime soon?

Not inside info, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon.

If it did it would be with JL or NH I think.

Up until 2001 or 2002 we had
JL, RG and DL doing NGO-LAX. (all MD-11)
Now...All are gone.

The UA NGO-SFO flight is doing well and is probably feeding passengers to LAX so that LAX direct would not be needed.

If we get any more North American routes out of NGO, it will be with the heavily rumored NGO-SEA on NH (a rare move for ANA). Also the Centrair management is looking for one more route to the east coast or midwest to replace the lost AA route.

Just an interesting side note; Nagoya's sister city is LA.
My name is Centrair but HND is closer. Let's Japanese Aviation!
