Good for F9. With the 737 phase-out complete they can pick up some very much needed cash before WN establishes a strong preasence in DEN.

No surprise there they are a great airline. They are much stronger than most on these boards think. They will always be the "home town" airline for Colorado and not even WN can change that. They have made us require PTV's, more leg room, great service, and excellent prices. I would say that a large majority of passengers from Colorado don't even bother to look elsewhere when looking for travel because they know F9 is going to have "average" pricing and don't mind if they are paying a little more for the excellent all around service that Frontier provides.

As you can tell from my Username I am United man but I have to admit when the opportunity is there to fly F9 I am going to do it. The only thing that gets me away from F9 is a widebody!

Great Job FRONTIER AIRLINES

UAL747DEN hit it right on the nose. F9 is by far one of my favorite airlines because of their all around service. They have a beautiful fleet, and excellent crews. F9 definately deserves the profit they are posting. They have shown they are definately a different kind of animal.

That's funny. Many of the WN followers claim F9 is losing money. I wonder why.

F9 is an outstanding airline so I'm not surpised at all by this. I live in Chicago but whenever i have to travel to Denver and sometimes the west coast, I'll always choose them over other airlines. Great service, good fares.

I remember an article in the Wall Street Journal a few years ago about Frontier. It pointied out how they were competive at DEN vs. UA and their success to that time. Among the points included was the schedulding of flights off the UA peak hubbing times, that way they could offer other convenient times for flights and not going head on with UA on schedules, and avoiding their traffic. I took them on a flight DEN-LGA back in 1999, and found them very good as to clean planes, decent meal service, pleasant staff and wishing they operated more flights in/out of the NYC area, including EWR. It is no wonder that they showed a profit this quarter. They are in a distinctive nitch with JetBlue, and maybe America West, between Southwest and Spirit and majors like UA, AA, DL, even CO.

This is great news. Congratulations Frontier!

A CASM of 5.86 is amazing.

Airlines like F9 prove you can provide quality service and still turn a profit.

Three more quarters with revenue in excess of $250 million and Frontier becomes - officially - a major.

Cool. Does that mean you get another plane named after you or just cold, hard cash this time?

Maybe they'll change the official name of N937FR back to "Mariner."

Mindboggling! Well done. In this RASM environment, getting CASM down is required. 5.86 is amazing.

Good luck to F9 becoming a major!

Mariner can tell you all about it. N937FR was actually never named Mariner. The tail features a blue crowned conure. It was named Hector at first, but I think F9 made a mistake and mixed up the names with the otter named Carmen. Now the blue crowned conure is named Carmen and the otter is named Hector.

Hector is featured in a couple new F9 commercials promoting service to Mexico. Funny.

because in their eyes WN is the only airline out there. They think their business plan is flawless, their genius for hedging fool, and they make ALL other airlines scared.  box
