Video: The Airbus Factory (w/A380 Interiors)

Mon Oct 31, 2005 5:50 pm

An excellent 14-minute streaming video of the Aviation Industry made by the Italian TV RAI.
It's in italian, but the images are great. They show some 320 under construction and the A380 from the inside too, in both upper and lower levels.

Enjoy. Big grinD

Thanks for the video.

More non-english A380 video:
Der A380: Gigant mit teuren aber leichten Toiletten
Airbus hat schon 149 Flieger verkauft. Wo der Riesenvogel doch noch nie in der Luft war. Alle wundersamen Details des Giganten präsentiert Christoph Röckerath.

Quick Google translation of the German text into English:
The A380: Giant with expensive however light toilets
Airbus sold already 149 fliers. Where the giant bird was not nevertheless ever in air. Christoph Roeckerath presents all wondrous details of the giant.

The meaning I hope is clear, despite the way the English language is treaded by Google.

The first 50 seconds shows what the toilet system is like. Including a full scale toilet simulator working with "blank ammo".  Wink

Is Airbus using Holodeck technology on the A380? I mean, the interior shots (both top level and bottom) look m-u-c-h wider than the actual empty fuselage shots later in the video? Maybe a wide-angle bird's eye lens was used in the mock up, I don't know.

Hopefully the Airbus website will release an A380 video like they did with the "Build A340-600" video which was pretty good.

Its a common optical illusion. When our offices were being built, they didnt look anywhere near wide enough, certainly no wider than our current offices, but once they were finished it was obvious the offices were twice as wide as the ones we were leaving.

Its just an optical illusion.

Makes sense....

I wish my living space followed the same concept, as it looked much bigger when it was empty.

EDIT: Oh, thumbs up to Airbus.....I like that adjustable seat spacing, Very cool.

Interesting in the German video (linked by JHSfan):
They are using a closed slide for the upperdeck as they suspect pax to be afraid jumping on a slide from 8 meters height....

And I liked the nicknames in German...

Unfinished interiors always tend to give that impression!

I once saw a 738 in construction for a new interior with the first half finished in it's definite interior casing and the rear part still in the way the A380 was seen in the video, and the result was impressive!

What a piece of white plastic can do...!

That's a great video, although at 107MB it is a bit big to email around!
