ANA's First 737-700 In "Gold" Colours

Tue Nov 01, 2005 1:16 am

Here's the first pic of ANA's first 737-700 with winglets, the aircraft is painted in a gold ANA scheme:

It's also the first 737-700 for ANA, when will she leave the US?

Any idea why its painted gold, rather than the usual blue?

Will she be used domesticly, internationaly or both?

Could it be that the paintjob is not finished yet? The brownish color you see on the picture could be the color of an unpainted fuselage. A picture of a similar 'gold paintsheme' on a Thai A340-600 was shown on this site a couple days ago.

Whilst it would be great to see, I don't think the paint job is finished or perhaps there was some reflection on the plane, it just does not look quite real.

I think it's finished. If that is not the case, they would not have applied titles on the tail and Japanese registration on the wing (yes, it's different than the one on the tail).

When ANA introduced 777s they also had some special livery, so I guess this one will only be applied on the first 737-700 delivered.

Well it still has a US Reg in the photo so it may be returning from a test flight and getting painted later.

I hope that Skyliner Aviation have asked for permission to use that picture because it is copyrighted to microvoltradio.com.

common guys, you can't be serious. believing that the would paint a plane and leave such a specific shape without colors is naive to say the least. it's a special livery, that's it.

I agree with Dazeflight; it's a special livery.

Mind you, this is one airline that definitely needs a new livery; it isn't bad, but it's been around for 23 years now (since the launch of the 767) and JAL has been through two livery changes this then, and most Asian competitors through at least one. It is getting a bit tired.

I know they've changed their livery very slightly, but changing to "ANA", but I don't really count that as a livery change.

Skyliner does list the copyright as being that of Matt Cawby, of the aforementioned microvoltradio.com, so I would think that it is all on the up-and-up.

It is amazing!

Well done ANA. ANA is always such a class act... You really have to take your hat off to Japanese airlines for doing a job. Now there is a brand I'd love to see franchised to short haul domestic service right around the world, and this 737 would be just the aircraft to do it!

BTW folks... its definately a special scheme... that gold isn't a primer because boeing don't use the same stuff Airbus do, plus the winglets wouldn't also be that colour if that were the case. It would be an off green or yellowish mustered colour if it were what you guys are thinking of.

Both: http://www.atwonline.com/news/story.html?storyID=2924

Some rows will be convertible to premium economy configuration, depending on demand (as has been done by some European airlines), on the international routes. Nagoya-Taipei will be the first such route.

Maybe in the 70's that colour for an airplane was awesome! Big grin  Smile

I think it is a special paintscheme for a type introduction. Looks damn neat if you ask me.

More airlines should adopt that color on their liveries. That looks moer ochre than gold to me though.

Imagine a 747 with the blue markings in gold, in a color sort of like Lybian Arab Airlines.

As for the color scheme ANA's is perfect. We don't want some new colors like the horrible and boring new JAL. Don't touch ANA's livery, thanks.
