Thu Nov 03, 2005 3:52 am

I was just wandering, what to expect on a LHR-EDI/GLA service ?
I know what aircraft types and the catering situation but I want your persoanal opinion.
What are the seats like in the front and rear section, how is the service etc

Thanks in advance

Seats towards the front will have most legroom as they are the ones that are used for Club Europe passengers (on European routes, of course).

Seats towards the front are more spacious, service is standard for BA Highly responsive professional cabin crew.

Probably better than BMI. Make the most of online check-in.

Heya

Did this flight out of City airport - pretty standard short haul flight- hopefully catering is back to normal.... it wasnt last week when we went to Barcelona and got issued with a food voucher in LHR and nothing in Barcelona.

How come you cant do online checkin?

That would be correct  Smile

Sadly ,when you're on staff travell, you can't do online check in, you have to go to the staff travell center in the terminal.

I'll most likely be going from LHR. Si ( because staff don't get the food vouchers anymore ) I'll just gaet a flight outwards before 10am and return flight after 3:30 pm, therefore I get a hot panini ?, don't ask me what it is , I don't know, anyone here know what this panini is ?
Oh Ansett767- Not that it's much use now, but flights to Spain now have a limited catering on board.  Smile

Thanks for all your replies, keep them coming

I had one on a MAN-LHR evening flight the other day. It was cheese and tomato. Nothing too exciting - typical All Day Deli. I missed having a G&T to go with it though, come on Gate Gourmet!

Have a quick look at my trip report from last May (it compares BA and BD on GLA-LHR route):

That was written before BD cut down their service (have they kept ther "standard" service for the EDI/GLA-LHR flights?). And, even though you don't agree with my assessment, you can still read in the trip report about what to expect on BA!  Wink Seriously, the best thing about those BA flights was a reasonable coffee in a proper mug!  bigthumbsup

If you're flying early morning, you might get the breakfast baguette. Nicest airline meal ever!  Smile

That will be nice, are you sure, because the catering disruption is still affecting the LHR intra UK routes.

You seem confused! Both Tony and I recommend BA over BMI (Tony's trip report gives BD an A and BA an A+)

Are we reading the same report? I didn't give overall scores, found both airlines comparable, and said I'd prefer BD mainly due to my *A Gold card giving me lounge access.
