What do you guys see Midwest Express doing in the coming years? Will they continue to grow? Will they get a different style of aircraft? Anything is appreciated. Thank you.

I don't think they'll grow much more, the reason why they survive is that they are small (at least thats what I think)

A while back I heard they were thinking about the 717 'if the price is right' but haven't heard anything since.

I think Midex will be around for quite awhile longer. Their mainline service probably won't expand too much more (they recently added IND and DSM), but Skyway probably will with the addition of more 328jet's. Their service is one the best I have ever seen. I fly them quite regularly out of OMA and I can't praise them enough. The only problem is with the aging fleet, time to upgrade to 717's or A318's.

Midwest-feeder Skyways has placed an order for 5+3 328JET and 5 428JET just about two weeks ago, on May 1-st.

How can you think that MidEx isn't trying to expand. Thats all thats on their mind now. New planes for Skyway, new routes through Indianapolis, build up at Kansas City, and the CEO's comments on interest in the 717. For sure, MidEx will continue to expand, most probably at MCI following the demise of Vanguard, if it happens. MidEx is the best airlines in the country. The only carrier to actually offer First class amenities at Coach fares. I see a prosperous future for the Kimberly Clark spinoff.

Yes, they are building up MCI, and they really don't need to wait on Vanguards demise. Midex is about the only airline that could make MCI work. It's not going to be a "hub", but it can be a "focus city". It won't be directly competing with Southwest, and even if they did, they are two well defined "niches". They'll grow, you can count on that.

I agree and hope that YX continues to serve Milwaukee, Omaha, KC, and other under-served cities of the Midwest. Their routes (especially DCA-OMA) and service are the best and are unsurpassed within the US. I have only had better service on Singapore Airlines and would hate to seem them swallowed up by a larger, more indiferent airline. Their management is very well-informed and is following a well-tested marketing and expansion strategy. My only critique is that their fleet is aging, but it seems they are well-positioned to rectify that situation during the next several years.
