Etihad Boeing 777-300ER

Hey, i know that the first Boeing 777-3FX/ER registration A6-ETA is due to delivery this month,my question is: were will the first Aircraft be operated to?
and are any new routes being opened with this aircraft?

Hi !

Apollo CRS show EY flying their first 77W to LGW and RUH. They will also fly it to BKK when they get the second and third one. They will actaully fly AUH-BKK twice a day, both by 77W by Feb06. I think they also will go to India, I think.

Update!

EY will first fly their 77W to LGW and by Feb06, twice daily to BKK. By the end of Mar06, they will also fly them to RUH and DMM. No additional cities are in the schedules yet.

Do you know why they took the -ER version?

The range needed for LGW or BKK is not an issue, and I don't even speak about DMM or RUH.

I understand the 773ER is more capable than the 773 but it's also more expensive to operate, isn't it?

Do they need the extra payload? Or have they considered future network extension?

are there pictures of the EY 773ER? I am really looking forward to seeing it.

I really do like their livery. However, it is surprising how un-fancy the homepage is!!!
You cannot compare it to EK or QR.

On a visit to the Boeing plant a few days ago, an Etihad 777 was on the flight line, along with an AF 777 as well.
